I wear BabyMuffin as often as possible.
I wore Cupcake when she was BabyCupcake.
And I wore Bito when he was BabyBito.
I didn’t plan to be a babywearer when I first became a mother. It just kind of happened, but then I discovered that both BabyBito and I were hooked! BabyCupcake tolerated it until she could walk. After that, she made it clear she was to be free to run about. I’m glad to have BabyMuffin to wear now, and he loves being close to me.
I’ve recently been asked by a few new mothers to show them how to sling their babies. I am thrilled to do so. I love taking my entire stash of babywearing devices to their homes, along with little model BabyMuffin, and giving a full demonstration. So far, one mom has borrowed my Hotsling pouch and another has told me she intends to get a Maya wrap ring sling. A third admired my Ellaroo Mei Hip and Beco Baby Carrier for her older infant and is considering a purchase.
Although I am no expert on babywearing, I’m happy to give moms a starting point. It took me a lot of trial and error, as well as many purchases and re-sales of great slings, to find what works for me. I now have a collection of slings and soft-sided carriers that fit my and BabyMuffin’s needs. If I can help someone else cut through all the mistakes I made, I’m pleased to do so.
