Cupcake

Cupcake is really coming into her own as sassy young lady. She’s a girl who knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to vocalize it. Cupcake is demanding and bossy…plus she’s stubborn to boot.

Oy. No doubt we are in for it with our second-born.

But there is a sensitive side to Cupcake, too. She is quick to pick up on others’ emotions. She knows when to back down when Mommy or Daddy are not happy with her. She is nurturing and protective of her BabyMuffin. And watching her play with big brother Bito is awesome. She holds her own against him but they genuinely get along well and bring out the best in each other.

Tonight at dinner, our waitress commented on BabyMuffin’s cuteness, and then said to Cupcake, “You are so beautiful!”

Cupcake’s response?

“Yes, I am.”

Guess we need to teach her some modesty.

Other recent fun has included her learning her letters and trying to figure out spelling.

One night as The Husband was changing her diaper, she looked at the diaper box sitting on the floor of her room. She spelled, “H-U-G-G-I-E-S………spells box!”

and

While waiting behind a truck at a red light: “C-H-E-V-R-O-L-E-T…spells pick-up truck!”

I look forward to watching my little girl grow up and become a strong young woman. I confess I have some dread with going through her preteen and teen years, but we’ll survive. I hope.

I’m sure I’ll be praying a lot through those years just as I am now.

My son did that but he did it a little differently – we were following my mother’s car and he spelled “Toyota” spells “Grandma”!

I almost crashed my car, it was so darn funny.
