Friday evening, I went to a party of DC Metro Moms contributors. The party was sponsored by Chevy and was held at Clyde’s of Tyson’s.

I was a bit nervous going to the party since I only knew one other person who would be there. But I put on my party face and kissed The Husband and kids good-bye. I got to a designated meeting point, and climbed into a Chevy Traverse with four other DC Metro Moms: Devra, Kristen, Jessica and Robin. We were on our way!

I shouldn’t have felt insecure about gathering with a bunch of bloggers I’d never met…we are women of words, after all! I bravely shook off my shyness and introduced myself to others. Conversation, to my surprise, ended up being rather easy! By the time my dear friend Sandie arrived, the room was buzzing. Sandie and I hardly had a chance to catch up with each other. I met so many interesting ladies there that I wished for a chance to get to talk more in-depth with all of them.

The get together was loud and happy. The food and drink was plentiful. The time, however, passed too quickly.

As I was dropped off at my car, I wondered why I’d been uncertain about attending this party. After all, I’d gotten some freedom! And an open bar! And food that I didn’t have to prepare! It was all good.
