I am not perfect in my usage of the English language. My grammar and spelling are good, but I don’t judge individuals if theirs aren’t.

However. If it’s a major organization or publisher, then I take special notice and expect more.

Yesterday, I ran across a glaring error on NBCOlympics.com, on the article about Nastia Liukin being awarded a silver medal despite tying for first. The word “was was spelled “wuz.” Twice. I thought I was just reading it wrong, but when The Husband confirmed he’d seen the error as well, I knew my eyes weren’t just playing tricks on me.

Then tonight, I was perusing another article and was shocked by the sentence fragments that served as entire paragraphs. A third article had several run-on sentences, which might not be a grammatical felony, but is sure to make some editors cringe.

I went back to the first article and discovered the spelling errors I’d spied have since been corrected. I took a screen shot of the second article and emailed NBC sports. I mean, c’mon! This is a huge website with thousands of viewers. Really? Couldn’t they have an editor or two proof these articles before they are published online?
