We’ve are at The Husband’s family home in the Midwest. We made it after an extraordinarily long car trip that involved us becoming intimately acquainted with nearly all the rest areas on the Ohio Turnpike, as well as several emergency shoulder pull-offs. No, I am not kidding, and oh, how I wish I were.

No matter. We are here now and the kids are in paradise. My mother-in-law runs a daycare and is a packrat by nature…so she has approximately a million toys. Okay, maybe I am slightly kidding here, but it certainly seems like a million! The kids could play with a new toy every minute of every day of our time here and not get to all of them. I am serious about this. This pleases me for so many reasons, namely that I do not have to pack a bunch of toys to bring with us!

Bito and Cupcake spent most of today outdoors, playing with the toys in the garage and yard. It’s a veritable wonderland of bikes, trikes, kid-cars, ball pits, sandbox, swingsets, vehicles, chalk, bubbles…! There are still entire roomfuls of toys indoors that they haven’t yet discovered! There are cousins and daycare children to play with, and so many things to do.

BabyMuffin is soaking up the tons of attention. People are fighting over who gets to hold him, to dress him, or even change his diaper! BabyMuffin simply rewards each person with his two-teeth grin.

The Husband is having a great time talking with his family, playing with our older nephews and snacking out of his mom’s pantry.

Life is good. My older two kids are wearing themselves down to nubs–makes for good napping and night-time sleep! The baby is cared for and content. My husband is relaxed and enjoying being in his hometown.

And I have very little to do…which is a vacation for me. This Wife and Mommy is very happy.
