Since I apparently don’t have enough to do in the month of November *cough* older two kids birthdays and Thanksgiving *cough* I’ve decided to participate in NaBloPoMo.  In other words, I plan to blog every day this month.

Yeesh, how on earth am I going to write something every single day for 30 days?  I get tired of hearing my own self talk…why on earth would I subject a bunch of imaginary readers to hearing me??  I hope I haven’t bitten off more than I can chew!

Speaking of biting off more than I can chew…I also decided to make a Thankfulness Tree with my kids this month as well.  I’ve shamelessly stolen this from an online friend who has done this with her son the past two years.  The idea is simple–we cut out a tree trunk out of brown construction paper and taped it to our kitchen door.  Because I had a lot of leftover brown construction paper, I went a little hog-wild and made a bunch of branches as well.  Anyway.  This morning, Bito, Cupcake and I discussed things we are thankful for.  I wrote one thing per child on a leaf and allowed Cupcake to tape it to a branch (Bito gets to tape the leaf up tomorrow).  That’s it.  We’ll do this every day for the month of November.  I hope to keep the focus of thankfulness at the forefront of this month as we approach Thanksgiving.  Since this is the first time we’ve done this, I don’t have a picture of a completed tree…just our tree with its one lone leaf right now!

Great Blog! I just wanted to say thanks for sharing the great tree idea. Maybe we’ll do that too – or at least a variation like that!

I love this! What a great creative way to get in the Thanksgiving spirit. I have to file this away for when Jack and any future sibs are old enough to do it.
