On posting photos

I won’t be posting any pictures of my children’s faces in this blog.

This comes after much thought and debate. I’d love to be able to put photos on here for our families to view…but it’s not going to happen.

I’ve been involved with online communities for eight years now…and during that time, I’ve personally witnessed incidents of people lifting photos from someone and then claiming them as their own. I’ve also seen someone photoshop a picture of someone else in order to make fun of that person.

And then I read this article in the Washington Post back in February of this year…

All this makes me cautious of posting any images of my own kids. Not that I think people are out to lift pictures of my adorable children or anything…I just don’t want to make it a possibility.

I got this as a funny in my email once upon a time. It kind of drove home the point for me.

So sorry if you were hoping to catch glimpses of my babies here. I don’t want to share their preciousness with just anyone. If you know me and know me well, you know where to see them. And if you don’t…well, just let me know.
