There was a thunderstorm this afternoon.
Bito doesn’t always do so well with the thunder rumbling and lightning flashing…but today, it didn’t bother him too much. He mentioned it and then moved on.
The Husband came home and we’d had a lovely family dinner where The Husband took the opportunity to teach the kids about the wonders of liquid salt A-1 sauce on their pot roast. We had some time to kill before bathtime, so Bito and Cupcake went outside to fetch the mail with their dad. The Husband encouraged them to pull on their rain boots, since they so rarely get worn.
Out they went. By this time, the sun was shining and there were only occasional droplets falling from the sky. Bito and Cupcake had a blast finding pools of collected water and stomping with delight! We didn’t try to restrain them from jumping in every puddle they could find…they did so with such gusto and glee that it was hard to not enjoy it vicariously.
I hope we are helping make childhood memories that they will treasure for a lifetime. And if not, well, at least they enjoyed it for the moment. I know I did.
