1. Where Were You Ten Years Ago?
Ten years ago…summer of 1998. I’d finished my third year of teaching middle school in the outer suburbs of the DC metro area. I’d completed my master’s degree in education. And I’d started hanging out with The Husband, who wasn’t even The Boyfriend at the time but was merely just A Friend back then. I wasn’t returning to teaching in the fall; instead I planned to start my new career in corporate training in September. Hence, I was taking the opportunity to enjoy my summer off. It was a summer of beach trips, late night movie marathons, long distance phone calls from A Friend who wanted to become The Boyfriend. It was a magical time of not-knowing what the future would bring, but desperately hoping it was what I wanted.
2. Five Items on Your To-Do List Today
- go to church
- work some hours for my WAH job
- clean up this pit known as my house
- play some Wii
- make sure The Husband has a great Father’s Day
3. Snacks I Enjoy
- fresh fruits of all kinds: peaches, nectarines, berries, grapes, plums…
- Fibre One bars
- cereal–my favorite these days is Special K Red Berries
- cheese
- whole wheat Ritz
4. What would you do if you were a billionaire?
- Donate a bunch to charities whose causes I believe in
- Take care of my family
- Save save save
- Buy our forever dream home
- Invest and prepare for the future
5. Places I would Live
I really do love the DC Metro area where we currently are…but I would probably choose to live in a different neighborhood/town.
But if I had to find some other location…well, my requirements would be something like this:
- I’m an East Coast kind of gal so I’d like to stay on the right coast
- I can’t imagine not living within four hours of a beach town
- I need to have four distinct seasons
- I can do without brutal winters, thankyouverymuch
- If a mosquito-free area exists that would be icing on the cake!
